The Bhagavad-Gita is the famous spiritual classic of India in which Lord Krishna instructs his devotee, Arjuna, in some of the highest, purest spiritual teachings ever given to humanity. It is considered by millions to be one of the finest spiritual books of all time. In the "Sai Baba Gita", Sathya Sai Baba explains the essence of the Gita: the importance of developing self-mastery, loving kindness, compassion, one-pointed devotion to GOD, dedicating all that we do to GOD, and realizing that GOD is the real Doer of all the good that we do, while overcoming our various human failings and weaknesses.
The chapters in the Sai Baba Gita are actually discourses that Sai Baba spoke to his college students and Sai devotees in his Ashram in India during a 34 day period in 1984. As Sai Baba was speaking, his words were simultaneously translated into "English" by Kasturi, (Sai Baba's translator), and later edited by an American Sai devotee, Al Drucker, for American audiences where Sanskrit words and concepts are rephrased with "American English" equivalents.

(A Special Note from: Bill Gaum, co-author of this website:
I just wanted to let you know that this book is not only one of my personal all-time favorite spiritual books, but I feel it is the very best book on Sathya Sai Baba's teachings for the English speaking peoples. My favorite chapters are Chapter 24 "Patience and Forbearance - The Heart of Spiritual Practice", and Chapter 27: "Kindness & Compassion - the Mark of a True Human Being".)
(I suggest the reader to start with Chapter 1, or Chapter 24 "Patience and Forbearance - The Heart of Spiritual Practice", or Chapter 27: "Kindness & Compassion - the Mark of a True Human Being" then later at your leisure come back and read the foreword and various other front material. That way you can get a feeling for these deep teachings right off the bat.)
