What is

the

purpose

of life?

Does Life Even

Have Meaning?

This is one of life's oldest and most profound questions. And even though this is a very deep and complex question, perhaps we can begin by looking at two different levels: 1) the universal level, which is true for everyone; and 2) the individual level that varies from person to person. The various spiritual paths give slightly different universal type answers, but according to Buddhism, Hinduism and the Ascended Master Teachings:

The #1 Purpose of Life is for each one of us to gradually (after hundreds of lifetimes) become more and more like Jesus, the Buddha, Blessed Mary, Quan Yin, Saint Germain and so many others. And then, once we are kind enough and pure hearted enough, Ascend to become an Ascended Master/Bodhisattva like they are.

Jesus also taught this, which is why he said:

"All these things that I do, you too shall do, and greater things than these shall you do." (John 14:12)

But unfortunately it wasn't understood by the early Church Founders that we too could eventually become spiritual masters and Ascend, and so was not incorporated into Christianity.

So How Do We Achieve Our Life's Purpose?

It's all about "Self-Mastery":

To begin this process of Self-Mastery and eventually achieve the Ascension:

1) We gradually become aware of the presence of GOD - and GOD's Love, Light, Inner Peace, Contentment and Happiness - within our Hearts.

2) We gradually discover that we are actually amazingly powerful Divine Beings who are here to become living outpourings of GOD's (the Great Spirit's; the Infinite Buddha Nature's; the Divine Mother's, Jehovah's, etc) loving kindness, compassion and goodness in everything we think, feel, say and do, despite life's challenges and hardships.

3) We're here to live for a purpose greater than ourselves! We're here to make the world a better, kinder, happier, cleaner, more compassionate, joyous uplifting place for our children and our children's children to inherit.

4) We're here to realize that ultimately all credit for all the good that we do ultimately goes to GOD, because GOD is the real Doer within us; and that someday we will begin to realize (Self-Realization) that GOD is our true identity - we are children of GOD - we are Divine Beings of Love and Light - that we are nothing less than the outpouring of GOD in our particular point, place and time in the universe.

5) We're here to awaken to the realization that there exists wondrous Divine Beings like Krishna, Jesus, the Buddha, Blessed Mary, Quan Yin (also Guan Yin or Kuan Yin), Bodhisattvas, Celestial Buddhas, Eternal Saints, Ascended Masters, the Immortal Ones, etc. And to realize that the goal of all our lifetimes, our ultimate destiny, is to become as they - to join their ranks as we become fully liberated Beings of Pure Light and Loving Kindness and Divine Wisdom who work at Cosmic Levels spreading Light, Love and Joy throughout the Universe.

6) Plus one of the primary purposes of life at the physical level is to learn kindness! Why? Because we have to prove that we're kind enough to be able to be trusted with the kinds of Higher Powers that are found in the Ascended Realms. Until we prove we're responsible enough, we just keep reincarnating back to the physical level and Etheric levels.

7) In summary, we are here to realize that the ultimate purpose of life is for us to gradually become kind enough, pure enough, and spiritually responsible enough, to Ascend to become eternal Ascended Masters like Jesus, the Buddha, Quan Yin, Blessed Mary, Saint Germain, and so many others.

Our Individual Purpose of life:

So if that is the Universal Purpose of Life that all people share in common, what is our own unique individual purpose of life - which varies from person to person! Naturally, it can be quite complex, multi-faceted and many-leveled. But often it includes the following:

To be a loving spiritual partner.

To be a loving parent.

To be a loving child.

To serve humanity in some particular way. Perhaps as:

A loving caring Mom or Dad, teacher, nurse or doctor, or other profession;

A dependable, honest, highly skilled crafts-person like a carpenter, plumber, electrician, a farmer;

An honest caring business person;

Or being a kind, caring, useful, honest member of one of a thousand other helpful professions and activities.

This is not easy to do in these dense physical worlds, but if we can do it here, then we can advance into the next higher realms. And if we're really kind, sincere and pure hearted, then we can Ascend.

Living for a Purpose Greater Than Ourselves

Few things give greater satisfaction and meaning to life than the feeling of living for a purpose greater than ourselves. We feel good about ourselves and when we look in the mirror it's easy to smile and say, "I love myself. I love being a kind, loving, helpful child of GOD. I'm a good person."

So how do we live for a purpose greater than ourselves? It's all about the choices we make on a day to day level.

Life's Choices

The choices we make in life, determine both our spiritual future and the outcome of our life’s journey. So, we need to chose wisely. And while we have many little choices in life, we also have one big choice that no one can avoid. We each need to decide for ourselves between living a selfish, worldly life, like the kind that is frequently advertised on TV, or choose the "less traveled" path. The allure of the selfish life promises great happiness, but rarely delivers it. Instead, one almost always finds it ultimately empty, sad and deserted of goodwill or self-confidence. This kind of life is often filled with many "fair weather friends", who desert us when the going gets tough.

Then there's the other path – the one that's less often chosen. This is the path of a selfless life – a life devoted to loving GOD and being an outpouring of loving kindness and compassion, a life of helpfulness to others and gradual spiritual self-improvement. On this path we often have just a few really close friends who share our secret desire to fulfill GOD's plan for our lives. But they're friends we can really depend on – even when the going gets rough.

If we choose the worldly path, we ultimately find empty promises and an lonely, empty, discontented heart. But in the second path we gradually find a deep inner peace; gentle, quiet, happiness; and a beautiful inner spiritual contentment that exceeds the temporary, passing excitement of worldly living. If we think about it, worldly goals and desires are ultimately fruitless anyway. This is because we can’t take material possessions, jobs, titles, and so on, with us into the next world when we leave our physical bodies behind as all must surely do. The only thing we ever can take with us is the loving kindness that we have given to others.

So it's silly to listen to a lot of sneaky, subconscious marketing tactics which try to get us to buy things we don't need or live an ultimately empty, unsatisfying lifestyle. It is often just "the blind leading the blind". We need to live our lives in such a way, that when we're getting ready to leave this world behind us, we can too can say to ourselves (in an allegorical manner - as the poet Robert Frost alluded to in his poem, "The Road Not Taken") :

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I --

I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.

If we do this, then we will experience a much, much greater feeling of fulfillment in life and a wonderful transcendent feeling of satisfying inner peace. And we'll be ready to move on to the next world with no regrets or hindrances. It'll be a happy, hopeful graduation time. And what a graduation! Perhaps even the Ascension!

And, if we have already tried the worldly path and have found it to be unsatisfying, it's now time to turn around and begin walking up "the road less traveled".

So why not start now? The road to lasting spiritual happiness is opening in front of us. Don’t miss the boat and choose the worldly path!

Why Not Dedicate Our Lives:

1. To GOD

2. To selfless service to humanity

3. To seeing those we’re serving as embodiments of GOD

4. To realizing that we are nothing more than outpourings of GOD and all the credit for everything we do goes to GOD

5. To realize that since GOD is the “Doer”, it is spiritually helpful that we have no attachments to the results (Fruits) of our service. In other words, if our kind acts are a wonderful success, we simply pass all the praises on the GOD, knowing our Mother-Father GOD to be the real Doer.

6. To doing everything as an act of devotion to GOD, a gift to GOD

7. To doing everything with an attitude of Gratitude.

8. To joyfully and gradually reduce many of the normal self-centered desires in life, in order to better serve our fellow human beings.
